After thousands and thousands of shares on Facebook, countless and emails reaching out to folks, and nearly 200 collective days in a boarding facility, we are so thrilled to share that ZEIRAH has finally found a foster home!
Zeirah was initially adopted out back in 2012 after she gave birth to and raised 10 puppies. Her adopter had rehomed her (which goes against our adoption contract), and the woman who had taken her in August 2018 no longer could keep her and was going to be forced to euthanize if she could not find her a new home. Thankfully, someone reached out to us and we recognized Zeirah immediately. Our team sprung into action to bring this girl back into the safety of our care.
Since returning to care at the age of 10, we have been working with Dakota Veterinary Hospital to bring Zeirah’s allergies back under control. They were not properly addressed, and it has taken months and months to make her comfortable, but we have finally seemed to make it over the hill.
We’d like to send a heartfelt thank you for the boarding facility that cared for Zeirah while she waited. Thank you to the thousands of folks who shared her Facebook posts, knowing the challenges we were facing due to her being labelled a prohibited breed. This senior gal is already settling in with her new foster family, and enjoyed some Monday morning snuggles with a new blankie and toys. Thank you to fosters Daniel and Hollie for helping out our sweet Z!
