On August 25, 2018, we returned four females and one male dogs we fixed and vaccinated with the help of
Dakota Veterinary Hospital earlier in the week. The dogs were ecstatic to be home! These dogs had their surgeries generously sponsored by our donors.
With additional help from our donors, we were also able to have 10 dog houses built by Shadows Mission to provide to dog’s that needed them.
We held a dog registration at the school, where owners registered their dogs, received collars for their dog to identify them as “owned”, and dog food. The kids in the community really enjoyed helping us haul all of the supplies inside, and we really appreciated the help! Thanks to The Ark Project, we also had tons of toys to hand out to the kids for their help.
Several dogs were brought back into the city to be fixed and receive much needed veterinary care for ailments like fractures and mange. A few of these dogs will remain with us and go up for adoption once they are healed, but others will return to their loving families.
Thank you to everyone who supported and donated to this initiative. They are imperative to helping us make a dent in the overpopulation problem, and providing families with much needed help and access to resources. These pets are well loved, and deserve our help to stay with their families.
Thank you to Murray Jeep RAM Winnipeg for the generous loaner of a large cargo vehicle to haul so much of our supplies up.
Thank you to our volunteers who worked so hard all day. These tireless volunteers were on the go for 20 hours on August 25th!
It was another successful weekend with the amazing community of Easterville/Chemawawin Cree Nation, and we look forward to our next trip up!
